How to make a greetings card for a special occasion…

Sometimes something calls for a handmade card with a little something extra, so I am going to share with you today how to make a greetings card for a special occasion, something to put a little more time and effort into than normal. I wanted to make a card for my Stampin’ Up! team member who promoted to the next title last week. I wanted something to show her how much having her as part of the team meant and to give her the congratulations that she deserved. If you would like to be part of a lovely group of […]

Sketch challenge using the Simply Succulents Bundle…

I had so much fun taking part in the Global Design Project challenge last week that I have decided to take part again, this time it is my take on a sketch challenge using the Simply Succulents Bundle. The challenges really are great for when you are stuck for inspiration, so I hope you enjoy my entry for #GDP274, with its stunning blended background! There are lots of ways to interpret this sketch challenge, as you can see by the examples over at http://www.global-design-project.com/, but I have chosen to work around the layout of the card and also to incorporate […]

How to create multicoloured stamped images…

I hadn’t realised until today that this week it is Thanksgiving in America, on Thursday 26th November. It is a time to step back and give thanks, and even though we don’t celebrate it over here in the UK, that doesn’t mean that we can’t also take a little time to reflect on what we have, and to be thankful for those things. I am most thankful for the friendship, creativity and community that Stampin’ Up! has offered me and continues to offer me, I honestly don’t know where I would be without it, without all of you. You are […]

How to make a gift box with matching card…

If you scroll to the bottom of today’s post you will find a video which shows you how to make a gift box with matching card. I had a play with the upcoming Fine Art Floral suite of products this morning, available from 5th January in the January – June Mini Catalogue. It is just so beautiful I couldn’t resist having diving in and having a go! I think my favourite part of the suite here has to be the Golden Garden Designer Speciaility Acetate, it is just so pretty and I show you in the video how to attach […]

Seaside Notions Shaker Card…

I have been a bit quiet on the blog the last couple of weeks, I was getting a bit burnt out, so decided to join a health club and I have been 8 times in the last two weeks, I am loving it, but I almost forgot to make anything! Whoops, lol. I spent some time in the Sauna and Jacuzzi the other day and think this must have inspired my card, my Seaside Notions Shaker Card. The background is made using Watercolour card… I heat embossed a random pattern using lots of different stamps from the set Seaside Notions, […]

beautiful daisy thank you card

Beautiful Daisy Thank You Card…

I was asked by a crafty friend of mine to do a Facebook Live Demonstration using the Forever Gold Laser Cut Speciality Designer Series Paper, and out of that came this beautiful daisy thank you card. Not the first thing I would have imagined when I started looking at the papers, but it just goes to show how versatile they are! I just love how this turned out, using the Daisy Lane stamp set and co-ordinating Medium Daisy Punch, with the In Good Taste Elements (the wooden leaves) and the Forever Gold Laser Cut Speciality DSP. Believe it or not, […]

A handmade luxury Christmas card and matching gift tag

Handmade Luxury Christmas Card…

I have been playing with the Poinsettia Dies recently, and really wanted to use the Plush Poinsettia Speciality Paper, with its sumptious soft flock feel, to make a handmade luxury Christmas card. You get six 12″ x 12″ sheets, 2 each of 3 designs, for £10.25. I have used it as the background for my large 7″ x 7″ card here, cutting it first to 14.4cm x 14.4cm and matting it onto a layer of Gold Foil sheet measuring 14.8cm x 14.8cm. I also used the paper to make the base for my matching gift tag, it really adds a […]

A Wintry Christmas Card…

So, I know that Poinsettias are supposed to be red, and leaves green, but one of the things I love about crafting is that we don’t need to stick to rules, so I have chosen Pool Party as my main colour for this Wintry Christmas Card. I absolutely love the Poinsettia Dies from the August – December Mini Catalogue, they make such stunning flowers and I have seen them made in a whole host of different colours, but there is something about these Pool Party ones, isn’t there? I have sponged the edges of them in Frost White Shimmer Ink, […]
