I know it’s only July but this month the Creativity Abounds crew are focussing on all things Christmas, so I just had to bring you this stylish wintry Christmas card using the new Sophisticated Sled Bundle. I can’t wait to see what everyone else has in store for us!
The Creativity Abounds Blog Hop group consists of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world, and we so enjoy sharing our love of crafting with you all.
As well as monthly blog hops, we also have a monthly tutorial bundle with the same theme, so if you want to get a head start on your Christmas crafting, why not check out the link below. Between the blog and the tutorial you’ll have over 20 ideas for Christmas cards!
I really love the papers in the Thoughtful Designs 12″ x 12″ Speciality Paper pack and really thought the combination of the wintry blues and the silver leaves were simply perfect paired with the Sophisticated Sled bundle for this stylish wintry Christmas card.
The card base itself is thick basic white which is cut to 14.5cm x 21cm and scored in half at 10.5cm. The paper layer is 14cm x 10cm and is stuck on flat to the cardbase. I decided to stick with a fairly monochrome colour scheme for this card so out came my Pretty Peacock ink and cardstock, with a hint of Pool Party card for the laces on the skates.
I am not usually a lover of these more builder die sets but I genuinely had a lot of fun building the sled and attaching the skates to it. The base of the sled was cut from Silver Foil, as were the blades of the skates and the leaves, and everything else (except the Pool Party laces) were cut from white card.
I really love how the sled turned out once I had lightly sponged a bit of Pretty Peacock ink onto it – the wood grain is so effective! I added the sled to a piece of Basic White cardstock measuring 6cm x 10cm and then layered this onto a piece of Pool Party card measuring 6.5cm x 10.5cm.
I stamped the sentiment in Versamark onto Pretty Peacock card and heat embossed with white powder before cutting with my snips and layering onto white card. It just made it pop that little bit more.
I finished my stylish wintry Christmas card off with a few basic rhinestones and a white twine bow holding up the skates. I was really pleased with how this turned out!
I really hope that we have inspired you to get your Christmas crafting on with our Christmas themed projects, even if it is July (though looking out on the dank grey raining skies you would have a hard time believing it!!)
Don’t forget that the tutorial bundle is available for purchase should you want even more inspiration to get you ahead for the festive season.
Thank you so much for stopping by today, and please do check out the rest of the hop too, I know everyone will have some amazing projects for you!
Until next time, Happy Stamping xx
