Irresistible Blooms from Stampin’ Up!…

As soon as I was able to I just had to order this beautiful upcoming collection of Irresistible Blooms products from Stampin’ Up! The gorgeous flower stamps, co-ordinating dies, papers, sentiments and embellishments are just fabulous, but I must say that as soon as I sat down to create, all the ideas just vanished from my head! Don’t you hate it when that happens? So, I turned to the good old trusty Global Design Project (#GDP380) for some inspiration – this week’s challenge was CASE the designer, Janneke De Jong, with her wonderful subtle Christmas card, which you can see […]

Two-tone flora stamp set from Stampin’ Up!…

I fell in love with the new two-tone flora stamp set from Stampin’ Up! as soon as I saw it, and putting ink to stamp I certainly wasn’t disappointed with it! I absolutely love how easy the images are to line up, and the effect that you get with the main body and the detail stamp combined. My biggest tip with this stamp set is to stamp the darker colour first, which will probably be the detailed stamp. Then you can overlay the lighter image on top – I just find it much easier to line up this way. To […]

How to step up a simple card…

I decided to play along with the Global Design Project challenge this week, and thought while I was at it I would show you how to step up a simple card, to really bring lots of elements together. Please do check out the GDP website to see all the other entries for this week #GDP360 – visit their website HERE This week’s challenge is to CASE the Designer, the fabulous Wilma De Korte, who went with a very Autumn theme for her card. I decided to change it up quite a bit, using a completely different set, the Boughs of […]

How to make a simple and stylish card…

Sometimes, you need a simple and stylish card, and one that doesn’t take forever to make, especially when you just want to reach out to a friend to tell them you are thinking about them. The Forever Fern stamp set is a perfect set for this type of make, because the images are so beautiful that you really don’t need all the layers and embellishments. I wanted to play along with the Global Design Project GDP#333 this month, but when I saw the colours I must admit my heart sank a little! I am not really into greens, but when […]

Crafting with a pop of colour…

I love using different colours in my crafting, but it isn’t often that I choose a very neutral background and then do the main crafting with a pop of colour, but I think it really works here. I took my inspiration from Connie Collins, in a ‘Case The Designer’ Global Design Project #324. Why not check out all the submissions on their webpage. This the amazing new Flowering Rainboots stamp and die set, I just love those wellies and how you can have the flowers growing out from inside them. The main colour of this card is Smoky Slate, with […]

Non-Traditional Christmas Colours…

It has been a long time since I posted anything that wasn’t part of a blog hop, but I have recently found my crafting mojo again (just in time for Christmas!!) and so I wanted to share this gorgeous Christmas card with you, using non-traditional Christmas colours. I have used Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Shaded Spruce and Soft Seafoam for my poinsettias and personally I think it looks stunning! I saw the Global Design Project #GDP319 was on the theme of Christmas this year, so I figured why not get posting and get entering this lovely challenge group. Did you […]

Multicolour Stamping with Markers…

This Multicolour Stamping with Markers technique is an oldie but a goodie, it is such a nice way of taking a single stamp and stamping it in a whole variety of colours. I have used the Shaded Summer stamp set for this card, I just love the flowery images that are in the set, as well as all of those gorgeous sentiments! I actually made this card for the Global Design Project #292, I love taking part in challenges because it can really inspire the creative person inside. This week’s challenge was to CASE the designer, Susan Wong. What a […]

A very girly birthday card…

I made this girly birthday card for my niece’s birthday, I think it will be just perfect for her even though she isn’t a particularly girly girl. I was working on a project for my return to in person classes and this paper was out on my desk, just calling to be used. It is absolutely stunning, and from the new Expressions in Ink Designer Series Papers. These papers are absolutely gorgeous, and mimic an alcohol effect style, without the mess or the need to buy and learn how to use alcohol inks. And they have the most beautiful gold […]

Theme Challenge by the Global Design Project – Animal…

Sometimes challenges can really help to inspire us, and because I haven’t posted in one for a while I wanted to take part in this theme challenge by the Global Design Project #279. The theme for this challenge is Animals, and co-incidentally I had the gorgeous Springtime Joy set on my desk from a recent project! I absolutely love the adorable little creatures in this set, all the way from the lamb to the smallest butterfly. Each one really has their own character and together they make the cutest of scenes. I stamped my images in Basic Grey, to give […]

Sketch challenge using the Simply Succulents Bundle…

I had so much fun taking part in the Global Design Project challenge last week that I have decided to take part again, this time it is my take on a sketch challenge using the Simply Succulents Bundle. The challenges really are great for when you are stuck for inspiration, so I hope you enjoy my entry for #GDP274, with its stunning blended background! There are lots of ways to interpret this sketch challenge, as you can see by the examples over at http://www.global-design-project.com/, but I have chosen to work around the layout of the card and also to incorporate […]
