Hello and welcome to this month’s Color Fusers Blog hop where we are working with a really interesting colour challenge, and one I actually struggled with. There was too much choice for me, to choose just one colour out of the amazing range of 50 colours that Stampin’ Up! has on offer, and then just pair it with white and black! Oh man, this was tough!
I was playing with the wonderful Layers of Beauty bundle when I realised that if I made good use of my Colour Lifter I could end up with some beautiful grey leaves just by using the Light Basic Black Stampin’ Blend, so I gave it a go.
I decided to use Daffodil Delight as my colour of choice, nice and vibrant to contrast with both the black and the white. I am really pleased with the result and hope you love it too!
My card base was made with Thick Basic white, measuring 14.5cm x 21cm scored in half at 10.5cm. The Basic Black Mat is 14cm x 10cm and the white embossed layer is 13.5cm x 9.5cm.
The embossing folder is one of the three in the Basic 3D Embossing Folders available as an online exclusive. To find the shopping code, check out the product pictures at the end of the blog.
I coloured the flowers in with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends and coloured in the leaves with Light Basic Black and my Colour Lifter, I love how this turned out! I due cut a few white leaves using the coordinating die bundle and added these behind the main flower image.
I don’t often use Black twine but it was absolutely perfect for this card today, and I added a sentiment from the Simply Zinnia stamp set, white heat embossed onto a scrap of black cardstock. A few Iridescent Rhinestones was all my card needed as a finishing touch.
I wonder which colour you would pick if you could only pick one! If you have a go at this colour challenge, be sure to send me a message as I would love to see your creation!
Until next time, Happy Stamping xx
