Flower Wreath

Well it is that time of year again, as we approach June and the launch of the new catalogue, that I look at my paper stash and realise that I really should use up some of these pretty papers! I bought the Perennial Essence papers when they first came out, because they just look so pretty, but for some reason I haven’t really used them. I think they were waiting for the right project, and this flower wreath is definitely it. To make the wreath, you will need 12 pieces of paper measuring 15cm x 15cm to make the outer […]

Desk Tidy…

I have been making these desk tidies for a number of years now, they are so quick and easy to make, and cheap too. I just love how you can change them up if you fancy a change of decor, and they look stunning on a desk filled with pens and stamping supplies. What’s even better is that the paper I have used to make this tidy is now reduced to just £6.45, for a whole pack of 12 sheets of 12″ x 12″ paper, filled with images that every crafter needs, pens, scissors, ribbons, and the most gorgeous backgrounds […]

Two Step Stamping…

Hello! I hope that you had a lovely Easter, and that you managed to steal a few moments in the sunshine, either in the garden or on a short walk? We have been incredibly lucky with the weather here in the South of England, for the last few weeks actually! Well, I can’t quite believe that I have only just bought the To a Wild Rose stamp set! I must have totally overlooked it until now but it is such a gorgeous stamp set with its lovely flowers and leaves and some amazing sentiments, just perfect for making cards to […]

Bird Ballad Frame

I want to share something with you today that I made some time ago now, almost as soon as the last annual catalogue came out I think. The Bird Ballad suite was one of my first purchases, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on every single item in the suite, they all just co-ordinate so beautifully together. The stamps are simply gorgeous and the papers…. well, I am lost for words. I love making samplers, and really enjoyed this one, on a canvas frame. The frame itself is 10″ x 8″, to give you an idea of size. Sadly, […]

Positive Thoughts…

This stamp set really called to me when I made this card on Saturday. I wanted to use fairly bright but soft colours and lots of layering, I am really starting to enjoy these more ‘fussy’ cards. The stamp set has got co-ordinating dies which have been available and ‘may’ be available again soon but everything can be fussy cut too, if you are in to that kind of thing! I’m not going to give you a full step by step today, but look closely and you will see some of the detail I have added. I have used every […]

Come Sail Away…

Well, who isn’t dreaming of oceans and freedom right now! For those who love the sea but don’t live near it this time could be a difficult one, so how about sending a lovely card to tell them you are thinking of them, just to say hi. Even if the recipient isn’t mad on the oceans, anchors symbolise hope, and steadfastness, something we could all use right about now! The anchor itself is from the Sailing Home stamp set (£22) and it has the most beautifully drawn sail boats and lighthouses, along with some great nautical themed sentiments. I have […]

Birthday Bonanza…

I have been busy making a card for Russ’s teenage niece, who is understandably quite upset that her party has been cancelled and she can’t see her friends. I hope that she still manages to have a nice day and can look forward to a party in the future. For now, I hope to bring her a little cheer with these incredibly cute animals from the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper. I haven’t used the stamp set for this card, just the Designer Series Paper (£10.75) so I fussy cut each of the animals out. You get some lovely background […]

Easter Peekaboo…

Hello and welcome again to my blog, I hope you will find information and inspiration here so please, sit back and enjoy the read! I have used the Welcome Easter stamp set (£19) from Stampin’ Up! this week, as I just really enjoy all these little animals. I couldn’t decide which one to use so I have used them all! I shared a little technique in my newsletter yesterday, the tone on tone stamping that I have used here, so if you don’t already, please sign up to my newsletters to get even more tutorials, tips and tricks. How to Make a Mother’s Day Card using the Daisy Lane stamp set…

Mother’s Day is fast approaching (UPDATE: 14th March 2021) so I thought I would show you how to make a Mother’s Day card to go along with the wreath that I made in my last post. Haven’t seen it? Click the link to see my Spring Wreath. I sadly lost my Mum to Motor Neurone Disease in 2015 and have found it really difficult to see or promote these cards the last few years, but things do get easier with time, as they say. I will always miss her though and it makes me sad that she will never see […]

Spring Wreath…

I know it doesn’t yet feel like spring has sprung but I wanted to make something bright and cheerful so that when the sun is hiding I can look at this and remind myself that brighter days are just around the corner. I have not used any stamps for this project, just two punches are all that you need to make this gorgeous piece of home decor. I have used the medium daisy punch and the leaf punch (both £15), punching out 36 daisies from Whisper White card and about 30 leaves from Pear Pizzazz card. To get colour onto […]
