How to use a card sketch – Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop Apr ’24…

Hello and welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends’ Blog Hop, where we are focussing either on new or retiring product, and I have got a fun card sketch for you.

The new 2024 – 2025 Annual Catalogue is coming out on the 1st May, and inside it you will see some fun card sketches on page 22. These are a great way to kickstart your creativity, and can be used with so many stamps and paper sets.

The Stamptastic Friends are a lovely bunch of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who just love what we do and want to share that far and wide. Please do head to the rest of the gang’s blogs once you have finished up here, for more inspiration. You will find all the links at the bottom of this post.

I really struggled with whether to choose new or retiring product for this hop, but my heart won out and I decided to play with my new goodies!! This is a brand new suite, available soon, called Unbounded Beauty, and comes with papers, stamps, dies, gems and the most beautiful speciality glimmer paper too!!

Oh, you probably want to see the sketch, don’t you, check this out below…

The papers in this suite are largely based around the new 2024 – 2026 In Colors, which are Petunia Pop, Shy Shamrock, Summer Splash, Peach Pie and Pretty in Pink. I am struggling to choose a favourite personally, because they are all so amazing, but I am definitely a purple girl, so Petunia Pop seems to be out on my desk a lot!

I cut a standard size card base, 21cm x 14.5cm and grabbed a mat of Basic White measuring 14cm x 10cm. All I needed then were three pieces of DSP measuring 3.5cm x 10cm and a piece of the glimmer paper measuring 10cm x 2.5cm. I stuck all of these to the white mat and then layered onto the card.

To make the focal point I stamped a sentiment onto basic white cardstock and cut the ends to form a banner. I then stamped two of the flowers and two of the leaves from the Flowers of Beauty stamp set in Versamark onto watercolour cardstock and heat set with white powder.

A little bit of watercolouring using that gorgeous Petunia Pop and Shy Shamrock meant I had some lovely accents to set around the sentiment, and all I needed to finish the card were a few gems, some ribbon (cut in half lengthways and distressed) and some twine.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing how I made this card sketch my own, and maybe even have a go yourself, they are really fun and there are a whopping 22 of them in the catalogue!

Until next time, Happy Stamping!! xx
