Two-tone flora stamp set from Stampin’ Up!…

I fell in love with the new two-tone flora stamp set from Stampin’ Up! as soon as I saw it, and putting ink to stamp I certainly wasn’t disappointed with it! I absolutely love how easy the images are to line up, and the effect that you get with the main body and the detail stamp combined.

My biggest tip with this stamp set is to stamp the darker colour first, which will probably be the detailed stamp. Then you can overlay the lighter image on top – I just find it much easier to line up this way.

To those in the UK, this card might seem a little ‘squashed’, and that is because the finished dimensions are actually 14cm x 10.5cm. I had to make it this way because the background die (cut in white and overlaid onto white) is actually made to fit the US measurements, and they have shorter cards than us – but I still think it looks lovely!

The layout for today’s card was actually inspired by the Global Design Project #376 – a CASE the Designer challenge. This month we are CASEing the very talented Connie Collins, and you can see her card below, and check out all the other samples over at The Global Design Project

I opted to keep the layout very similar, and to include an element of grey, too, but I really wanted to show off the two-tone flora stamp set in all its glory and in order to do that I really needed colour!

After a LOT of internal debating, I finally opted to use So Saffron, Coastal Cabana, Starry Sky and Smoky Slate – totally not my go to colours, but I really think they work well together here.

A handmade birthday card with flowers in yellows and blues, using the two-tone flora stamp set from Stampin' Up!

A little bit of Pool Party ribbon, some Adhesive Backed Milky Dots and a framed sentiment just finish off this card perfectly, and hopefully will inspire you to get those stamps out and have a play.

I am thankful to be chosen as a winner for this week’s challenge – thank you so much indeed to those who chose my card!
