The creativity abounds blog hop team are showcasing all things ‘Holiday Season’ this month and I have paired the Shining Stars and Christmas Crew stamp sets to create this one!
For this project, I stepped away from the classic red and green and embraced a striking colour palette of Secret Sea, Bubble Bath, Melon Mambo, and Pool Party. The card features a cheerful snowman holding a “Sending Holly Jolly Wishes” sign, layered playfully over a large, vibrant pink star. Tucked behind his sign are two sweet candy canes, while smaller silver foil stars are scattered across the sky.
To create that crisp, wintry backdrop on the top half of the card, I used a sponging technique with Pool Party ink, building up a soft gradient. I then added some ink flicking across both the background and the die-cut stars to give the illusion of a textured snowy flurry. Of course, no winter card is complete without a little magic, so I finished the stars and the snowy background off with a generous dusting of Wink of Stella for that beautiful frosty shimmer!
The bottom half of the background really makes the pinks pop, using a dark patterned paper covered in crisp white snowflakes, separated by a sleek silver strip. Finally, I added a bold “‘Tis the Season” sentiment at the very top of the card to tie the whole composition together. This was hot foiled onto Secret Sea cardstock using my Hot Foil machine – love it!
This is such a fun way to use the Shining Stars bundle, and the Christmas Crew stamps bring so much character to the focal point.
