Irresistible Blooms from Stampin’ Up!…

As soon as I was able to I just had to order this beautiful upcoming collection of Irresistible Blooms products from Stampin’ Up! The gorgeous flower stamps, co-ordinating dies, papers, sentiments and embellishments are just fabulous, but I must say that as soon as I sat down to create, all the ideas just vanished from my head! Don’t you hate it when that happens?

So, I turned to the good old trusty Global Design Project (#GDP380) for some inspiration – this week’s challenge was CASE the designer, Janneke De Jong, with her wonderful subtle Christmas card, which you can see below. I was totally inspired by this layout, and the colour scheme, so decided to CASE both of these elements, along with the sponged background too. First of all, I heat embossed some of the leaves in white, and then ink blended with Pool Party to give a really soft and subtle look.

You can see Janekke’s project here…

The flowers in my card are actually fussy cut from the Designer Series Paper, but you could just as easily heat emboss the flowers from the stamp set in white and ink blend these too. In fact I have done this on a card that will be on the blog on Tuesday 14th February, it is such an effective technique.

To see me using the Irresistible Blooms suite, why not watch the video of this week’s YouTube live, simply by clicking the picture below. And if you like what you see, I would be ever so grateful if you would subscribe, or why not come and join us one Thursday at 8pm UK time, it would be great to see you virtually!

The card on the left here is the second card I made, using exactly the same Irresistible Blooms products and the same colours, but just switching up the layout. This can also be a really great way of crafting when you have lost your mojo a little bit.

I finished my cards with a few Iridescent Pearls (or iridescent Rhinestones!), some die cut leaves and some white crinkle seam binding ribbon, my favourite ribbon when a soft and subtle bow is needed – it ties beautifully!

The colours here are Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight, a lovely trio just perfect for spring.
