How to make a simple and stylish card…

Sometimes, you need a simple and stylish card, and one that doesn’t take forever to make, especially when you just want to reach out to a friend to tell them you are thinking about them. The Forever Fern stamp set is a perfect set for this type of make, because the images are so beautiful that you really don’t need all the layers and embellishments. I wanted to play along with the Global Design Project GDP#333 this month, but when I saw the colours I must admit my heart sank a little! I am not really into greens, but when […]

How to scrapbook a single photo…

I wanted to make a gift for my Sister-in-Law recently, and decided to give her a piece of home-decor, so I set about thinking of how to scrapbook a single photo. When I scrapbook, I normally try to fit about three photos on a page, but here I wanted to showcase a beautiful photograph of her three girls, taken while they were out for a walk last year. It is so lovely to see them all smiling and laughing together. I started by choosing a colour scheme, and I knew I wanted greens to tie in the photograph and a […]

Triple Layer Stamping…

Well, Triple Layer Stamping with a twist, to be more precise – mainly becuase this might actually be classed as only double layer stamping! I absolutely love this technique as it is quick and simple yet produces stunning results (in my opinion!) There are two ways of achieving the same result, and I cover both in the video below so you can have a go and see which you prefer. For this card I have used the colours Melon Mambo, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green, a real celebration of summer using the Forever Fern stamp set, a […]

No-line colouring technique…

Hello, and welcome to this blog post all about the no-line colouring technique! I actually made these cards by accident… I was going to be trying the no-line watercolouring technique, but I forgot to take either my aqua-painter or my blender pen with me where I was going, so thought I would just use the watercolour pencils by themselves and see what it looked like – well, I think it looks just great, and you can get such definition and shading. I used the stunning new Forever Fern stamp set from Stampin’ Up! I absolutely love the images and the […]

Exploding Candle Box…

I absolutely love making these – the gorgeous exploding candle box. It is a design that I came up with a few years ago when I was making things to sell at the local craft fairs. I sourced some fairly inexpensive candles and really jazzed them up – they proved very popular so I thought I would share the design with you here today. My candles are approximately 2 3/4″ diameter at the widest part and 3 1/4″ high. I wanted to use the Forever Greenery Designer series paper becuase I find green a very calming colour, just perfect for […]
