How to Make a Masculine Themed Ocean Card…

Next month is Father’s Day here in the UK, so this month is focussing somewhat on cards for men, and here I show you how to make a masculine themed ocean card using the On the Ocean Bundle from Stampin’ Up! This is a great set for adults and children alike, and was the perfect set for this ‘For the Men’ blog hop by the Tech 4 Stampers Academy. I find creating cards for me quite a challenge, as I know a lot of you do, too, so I tend to start with a stamp set and then straight away […]

New Colours from Stampin’ Up!…

I don’t know about you, but it normally takes me a year or so to really get into any new colours from Stampin’ Up! but this year I have vowed that I will introduce them more quickly into my crafting, and I think the key is learning which colours go with each other, to make gorgeous colour combos. I did a little bit of exploration this week, trying to see which colours paired with each other, and focussed my efforts on the new In Colours. I created this fun chart, to help me see which colours might suit which others, […]

How to make a Rainbow Card…

The Zany Zoo bundle is a new addition to my craft room, and as soon as I got my hands on it I just knew I wanted to use my Thursday night YouTube live to demonstrate how to make a rainbow card, using the cute characters in this set from Stampin’ Up! This bundle is part of a brand new suite of products, but I wanted to show how to use it without the papers, and was instantly drawn to that cute racoon holding the balloons. You can see how both of these cards were made by heading to my […]

Marigold Moments – Artisan Design Team April Monthly Post…

My Artisan Design Team group were tasked to create with the Marigold Moments stamp set for our April monthly posts, and the team did an amazing job of showcasing the versatility of this stamp set. I was blown away with some of the projects that had been created! I opted for a very traditional colour scheme, with oranges and yellows, and added in a touch of gold, too. I actually had some gold foil wrapped chocolates left over from another project, and decided to make some treat packaging using the lovely press seal bags, to go with my card. I […]

How to make a flower filled box frame – Tech 4 Stampers Blog Hop April ’23…

Our theme for this month’s blog hop is something square, and this frame was just sat on my shelf shouting at me, so I decided to show you how to make a flower filled box frame, perfect as a gift of for keeping on display in your own home. The best thing? The flowers never die! I got my frame from Hobbycraft in the UK, and it is a 7″ frame with a 6″ aperture, just the right size for a wreath like this. To make my flower filled box frame I used the Two Tone Flora stamp set from […]

How to use heat embossing and alcohol markers…

I was asked to create a tip/technique based post for the Artisan Design Team, and I knew almost immediately that I wanted to show people how to use heat embossing and alcohol markers together. If you were to stamp and heat emboss an image, and then try to colour it in, you have two big problems. Firstly, the alcohol marker ink would get onto the heat embossed image and make it look really messy, and secondly, the ink in the markers can react with the embossed area and damage the pens! This tip shows a way around both of these […]

How to use the emboss resist technique in cardmaking…

Going through my stamp sets for inspiration for my YouTube live, I realised I hadn’t ever used the gorgeous Pretty Medallion stamp, so I thought what better than a little tutorial using this background stamp with the emboss resist technique, both with watercolouring and with ink blending too. Heat embossing is still like magic to me every time I do it, and I love how many different techniques you can use with it too. These are two fairly simple techniques but ones that really add a little wow to your finished project. The pretty medallion stamp set is perfect for […]
