Elegant embossed handmade card…

Hello and welcome to the Tech 4 Stampers blog hop, where today I have got an elegant embossed handmade card for you. Sometimes, with certain types of occasions, you really want a more clean and simple card, and I think the use of an embossing folder can really help with this. Read on to find out more…

The Tech 4 Stampers group is a wonderful group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators, all working on learning more about the wonderful world of technology, under the watchful eye of Louise Sims, our teacher and mentor.

We come together here to showcase our handmade card or gift ideas for you, so please do have a hop around the rest of the team’s blogs using the links at the end of this post.

An elegant embossed handmade card with flowers and a sentiment that says 'thinking of you'

Some people seem to naturally make really elegant looking clean and simple cards, but it is something I personally struggle with. I often think (even though I know it isn’t true) that unless it has lots of layers and techniques that something is missing!!

I knew for this card that I didn’t want cluttered, but I also knew that the white background could look rather plain on its own, so out came my trusty embossing folders. Something as simple as an embossed background can really change the look of a card, and turn something a little boring into an elegant embossed handmade card, I think.

All you do is put the card into the folder and, using the right combination of plates (otherwise known as a sandwich), run it through the Stampin’ Up! Cut and Emboss machine. It really is as simple as that!

I layered that onto a white card base, adding to the elegant feel, and then set about decorating it using the Textured Floral bundle, a wonderful set of stamps and dies that look almost watercoloured to me.

The colours I have used are Moody Mauve, Bubble Path, Lemon Lolly and Lost Lagoon, with some die cut leaves from Rose Gold foil – such a gorgeous pack of speciality paper sold by Stampin’ Up!

A sentiment, some white twine and some Iridescent Pearls were all that was needed to finish this card of beautifully, ready for giving to someone special going through a difficult time right now.
