Celebrate Sunflowers Card…

What better way to celebrate at this time of year than with a Celebrate Sunflowers Card. The sunflowers in our garden are not yet blooming, but I still couldn’t resist making this card, which will be just perfect for anyone celebrating anything, a birthday, a new job, or really any achievement at all. The colour scheme is inspired by a class that I did with a super talented fellow demonstrator, Emma Goddard. Her use of Mango Melody and Basic Gray was new to me, but I thought I would give it a go here and see how it looked. Personally […]

Forever Greenery meets To a Wild Rose…

A quick post for you today sharing my latest creation, where the suite Forever Greenery meets the To a Wild Rose stamp set. I’m so pleased with how this turned out, with a delicate softness yet striking nature. Just look at that stunning Forever Gold Laser-cut speciality paper! For £14 you get 4 big sheets of pre-cut gold embellishments and card fronts, perfect for crafting on the go, a quick card or if you are a new crafter without a die-cutting machine. I have used one of the bigger elements here, and all I did was pop it out and […]

Designer Series Paper or Stamped Images?

Well here is a question for you… is this card made from Designer Series Paper or stamped images? Well, it is acually the most gorgeous Designer Series Paper, coloured in using the Stampin’ Blends, Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam. Isn’t it pretty! The images are printed in a soft grey, like Smoky Slate, and take the colour really well. Because the images are already shaded it is even easier to colour in becuase you know where the shadows and highlights should be. I used another sheet of the paper to add a contrast to the bottom, and some of […]

Forever Greenery…

I have got a wonderful new suite to share with you today, the Forever Greenery suite from Stampin’ Up! I absolutely loved playing with the papers, stamps, dies and other embellishments which all co-ordinate to make the most stunning cards and gifts. I especially like the little splatter stamp which I have used on the background here, tone on tone stamped for a subtle effect. The stamps in the Forever Greenery stamp set are ‘distinktive’ stamps, so you get wonderful lifelike images, with the stamps laying down different amounts of ink to give gradients and shading without needing to do […]

Emboss Resist Technique…

I absolutely love the emboss resist technique and it worked so well for me when I used it with the brand new Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set from Stampin’ Up! Available from June 3rd this is a stunning set filled with the most gorgeous sunflower images and sentiments to match. I made this card for my boyfriend’s Mum for her birthday in June. It is bright and cheery and I am sure she will love it. I started with a piece of Whisper White card (though really I should have used Shimmery White or Watercolour card) measuring 6″ x 4″. I […]

Sending Positive Thoughts…

What better time than now to think about sending positive thoughts, I think that we could all use them to be honest. I am so fortunate to be part of a large crafting family, through Stampin’ Up! and this weekend I took part in a craft challenge on zoom with my wider team and friends. I first thought up this challenge three weeks ago, where someone has to describe a card to everyone without showing us, while we all try to recreate it as best we can with what we have got. It really is a lot of fun and […]
