Life is a Beautiful Journey

It has been a very busy time here at The Songbird Stamper HQ, with the Virtual Catalogue Launch Party, preparing for the July Class To Go and generally just clearing out the old and making way for the new. Everything going on at the moment has reminded me that life really is a beautiful journey, and this is what inspired my card for this blog hop.

Handmade card using the Beautiful World Bundle and World of Good Speciality Designer Series Paper

One of my favourite suites from the new catalogue is the stunning World of Good suite, with it’s intricate dies, sumptuous faux suede trim exquisite brass foiling and beautifully co-ordinated embellishments. This suite is perfect for making more masuline themed projects, for using in scrapbooking and journalling projects or for creating cards and gifts for the travellers and adventurers in your life.

World of Good Suite collection

Don’t forget that during June there is an amazing promotion happening which would allow you to get the Beautiful World Stamps and Dies of this suite for FREE, on top of £130 worth of product and free shipping all for just £99. What a bargain.

Right, back to my card! I have used two different papers from the World Of Good Speciality Designer Series Paper for this card, one blue one and one neutral colour, with the map on. I sponged the edges of this to make it look a little more antuiqey (is that a word?). Both papers are layered onto mats of Crumb Cake, such a wonderful colour, it goes with so much!

I used the globe dies from the Beautiful World bundle to cut out my focal point from the new Brass Foil Sheets. These are so shiny and, unlike real brass, they will never dull or tarnish! The sentiment is stamped in early espresso and then fussy cut and the sponges daubed with a little crumb cake ink, to blend them into the background slightly. Without this, they just stuck out a little too much for my liking, if you haven’t tried this before, give it a go.

Some faux suede trim and a little ‘slider’ from the co-ordinating embellishments and I have a great card ready to go for anyone about to embark on a new adventure, or a new beginning.

Inside of the card, decorated to co-ordinate with the Beautiful World bundle

All too often I forget to decorate the insides of my cards. Doing so really ties the project together, and adds a touch of class I think. We have the stamps and papers, so why not use them anywhere we can. I stamped onto a mat of Very Vanilla and layered a piece of DSP accross, the perfect finish I think.

Don’t forget to come back after you have finished the hop to purchase any of the supplies you need simply by clicking on the photo links at the bottom of the page, but for now, enjoy hopping and seeing what the rest of the Casually Crafting Design Team have been up to on the theme of New Beginnings.
