Two-tone flora stamp set from Stampin’ Up!…

I fell in love with the new two-tone flora stamp set from Stampin’ Up! as soon as I saw it, and putting ink to stamp I certainly wasn’t disappointed with it! I absolutely love how easy the images are to line up, and the effect that you get with the main body and the detail stamp combined. My biggest tip with this stamp set is to stamp the darker colour first, which will probably be the detailed stamp. Then you can overlay the lighter image on top – I just find it much easier to line up this way. To […]

How to colour daffodils with Stampin’ Blends…

It’s been so dull and dreary here in the UK recently, yet my spring bulbs are starting to poke their way through the ground, which inspired me to have a play last night on my YouTube live, showing how to colour daffodils with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers – such soft and subtle colours reminding us all of brighter days ahead. I love using my Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers for colouring in, because I find them quick and easy to use, and the results that I get with them are just beautiful – images look clean and crisp, just like they […]

How to colour flowers quickly with watercolour…

Last week on my YouTube live I played with the new Fragrant Flowers stamp set, colouring it in with my alcohol markers, but this week I wanted to demonstrate how to colour flowers quickly with watercolour, as we don’t always have the time to spend colouring so neatly. I hope this video and blog post will show you that you can achieve great effects really quickly! To learn more about watercolouring, and all the techniques and tips that I have, why not think about joining my watercolour cardmaking course. You can find all of the details and the link to […]

Colouring Flowers with Alcohol Markers…

One of my favourite things to do in my crafting life is colouring flowers with alcohol markers; I just love the effects that you can create and how beautiful they look when you are finished. It is also one of the techniques that I share on my Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Marker Course, along with blending different colours together too, like I have done in the project below. I am actually taking bookings for my next Stampin’ Blends course now, so why not head over to my page for more information, or to book your spot! I used the upcoming Fragrant […]

Watercolour Emboss Resist Technique…

I made these two cards using the watercolour emboss resist technique during my recent YouTube live video (8pm UK time on a Thursday if you ever want to join us!) and thought it would be nice to share them here, too, on my blog. This is such a lovely technique, which gives a really subtle but effective background, and works beautifully with the upcoming Dainty Delight bundle and Dainty Flowers DSP available in the new Jan – Jun Mini Catalogue and out for sale to customers on the 5th Jan 2023. The colours I used here are Pear Pizzazz, So […]

Subtle Embossing Folder Trick…

Hello and welcome back to my blog, where today I am sharing with you a top tip for how to make your embossed images less prominent using the ‘subtle embossing folder trick’. I must say the colour combination I used here was totally inspired by my lovely upline Emma Goddard, who stumbled across it during one of her weekly live crafting videos. Fresh Freesia, Coastal Cabana and Crumb Cake – who would have thought it! I wanted to keep lots of white space on my card, so I positioned all of the focal point over to the right hand side […]

Make a quick and easy handmade card – Casually Crafting Blog Hop Feb ’21…

My hand was forced for this post after I realised I had made a fun fold card instead of a colour challenge card for the hop, so it has turned into a ‘quick and easy handmade card’ instead! This only took me 15 minutes to make, and that was including the design time, so this one would be great for when you need a card in a hurry. The colours for this month’s colour challenge are Rich Razzleberry, Fresh Freesia and Old Olive, a beautiful combination and perfect for flowers, which is great for me as I have been wanting […]
