Beautiful Butterflies – Color Fusers Blog Hop – Apr ’25

We are really into Spring here in the UK and these colours are just perfect for the weather that we have been having, so sunny and warm, just the weather for some beautiful butterflies too. I chose to work with the aptly named bundle from Stampin’ Up! this month, I just love how the stamps, dies and embossing folder all co-ordinate together.

Because the embossing folder is a 6″ x 6″ one, I opted for a large card, using a pre-made 7″ x 7″ card base and envelope. You could make your own, but I had some on hand, so chose the easy option today! I cut a piece of Balmy Blue cardstock to 15.5cm x 15.5cm and then a piece of Basic White to 15cm x 15cm, this was the piece I used to emboss with that gorgeous embossing folder.

The only other measurements you need are another piece of white measuring 10.5cm x 10.5cm and a piece of blue Glimmer Paper measuring 10cm x 10cm. I layered the glimmer paper onto the white paper and then stuck it onto my card with dimensionals.

To make the beautiful butterflies I inked up the large butterfly stamp using a Versamark Pad and embossed using white heat embossing powder. I then sponged on some Lemon Lime twist ink to the centres, Balmy Blue to the middle sections and Gorgeous Grape on the outer of the wings. Don’t worry about going over the edge because you are going to cut it out afterwards.

Die cut three of the small butterflies (and their corresponding bodies!) in white card and then layer them together. Add one small butterfly to each of the big beautiful butterflies before adhering to the card with liquid glue. It will stick fine, if you give it time to dry. Then add the leftover small butterfly as shown.

To finish the card simply add a sentiment on a banner, some small silver ribbon bows and some sparkly gems.

Thank you for stopping by, and until next time, Happy Stamping xx
