Hello and welcome to the Be Inspired blog hop, where our theme this month is Celebrations, and I have made a lovely birthday card using the Wildflower Birthday suite of products, perfect for personalising special birthday cards for friends and family.
I absolutely love the paper in this suite, and the die cut sheets just make crafting so quick, easy and fun. They come in the same pack as the papers, so you don’t need to buy anything in addition, and pair well with all your other birthday stamps too.
This card is a 5″ x 7″ card so I started with a sheet of thick basic white cardstock cut to 10″ x 7″ which I then scored in half at 5″. I chose Pretty in Pink as my mat and cut that to 4 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ and layered on some of the cute foiled birthday cake DSP which I cut to 4 1/4″ x 6 1/2″.
The panel in the middle is made from Gold Foil, Pretty in Pink card and Basic White card, in the following measurements (this is where my class ladies jokingly moan at me for switching between imperial and metric!!) 7.5cm x 11cm, 7cm x 10.5cm and 6.5cm x 10cm.
The focal point is one of the gorgeous images from the pre-cut die sheets, the large cake, and I simply popped this on dimensionals onto the panel, which I then stuck on the card front with dimensionals too. I like the added depth because I think it makes the card look just a bit more special.
To finish, all I did was cut the numbers from the Wildflower Birthday suite’s die set in Gold Foil, added them to the front of the cake and then adorned the card with a few gold sequins and a twine bow. I do love a bit of gold twine, don’t you?
