Umbrella Days card of support – Stamptastic Friends’ Blog Hop Feb ’24…

Hello and welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends’ Blog Hop where we are working on the theme of ‘Just to Say’ and I made this card of support using the Umbrella Days bundle from Stampin’ Up!

The Stamptastic Friends are a small group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who just love to share their creativity with you all, check out the rest of the groups’ projects using the links at the end of this post!

Sending a handmade card to someone can really brighten up there day and I wanted to tell a story with this card – I’ll let you be the judge of whether or not I have succeeded. I wanted to show that brighter days are always ahead, when things are tough, just keep walking towards the sunshine and you will get there one day.

This really isn’t my usual style of card, but I was pleased with how it turned out. I used the Umbrella Days bundle and paired it with the Everyday Skies DSP – a gorgeous pack of all sorts of cloud designs. This one with the black seemed to fit the message of my card the best, and looks great against the pops of green and yellow.

I had seen someone colour this stamp set image in and it really inspired me. I chose Melon Mambo for the boots, Smoky Slate for the trousers, Daffodil Delight for the coat and Lemon Lime Twist for the umbrella. I love how the shading turned out, and the highlights using the colour lifter.

I used the coordinating Umbrella Days dies to cut the image out, and also cut two clouds and some grass, which I sponged with Bubble Bath and Lemon Lime Twist ink respectively. The central arch is cut using the 4th smallest arch die from the Everyday Arches set and I have blended round the outside with Daffodil Delight ink.

I stamped a cute sunshine from the Choose Happy stamp set in Daffodil Delight and coloured it in with my Stampin’ Blends. Then I stamped some flowers from the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set and coloured those in using Melon Mambo and Lemon Lime Twist.

The paper is layered onto a Lemon Lime Twist Mat and the card base is Night of Navy, a very unusual colour choice for me but I hope you will think it works!!

Thanks for stopping by today, be sure to check out even more ideas using the hop links below and until next time, Happy Stamping!!
