Hello and welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends’ Blog Hop where we are keeping it simple (or at least as simple as we can!) and I have got this easy Darling Dinos card for you, perfect for a last minute make.
The Stamptastic Friends are a small group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who just love to share their creativity with you all, check out the rest of the groups’ projects using the links at the end of this post!
This easy Darling Dinos card was made using one of my favourite bundles from the upcoming mini catalogue – it is just perfect for the kids (and big kids!) in your life. I know someone in my family who loves dinosaurs, so I know what set I will be using in her birthday card this year!
Now I am not actually very good at keeping things simple, I always seem want to add more to my cards! For this easy Darling Dinos card though I really did try to pare it back as much as I could and focussed on a fairly easy background and a simple coloured dino for the focal point.
When I get a new stamp set I often just stamp and play to begin with, to get a feel for the set and which colours will work. I absolutely loved the Summer Splash and Lemon Lime Twist in this one, and pulled in some Pool Party for the background because it goes so well with the Summer Splash.
That diamond in the background was created by making a stencil from a new die in the Linked Together bundle. I cut it out of the middle of a piece of acetate and then sponged some Pool Party ink through it onto a piece of Basic White cardstock.
See the stitching around the edge? That is made using the Stampin’ Write Markers, I love how we have coordinating pens to go with all of our colours! I also used the marker to add some splattering to the background too – they are really versatile and you can have a lot of fun playing with the markers!
Some stamped hearts finish off the background and all that was left was to add a sentiment and my dinosaur – of course holding a pink balloon!
I hope that you enjoyed seeing how I created this easy Darling Dinos card, and if you want this set for yourself it is available to customers starting on the 7th January – I think this one is going to be popular.
Thanks for stopping by today, until next time, Happy Stamping!!

Beautiful, such fun.
Heather – this is such a cute and simple card which you make effortless. Great idea for creating the background with a die template and love the tip for adding the frame with the Stampin’ Markers.
adorable! The dino makes me smile.
