This month the Creativity Abounds blog hop team are talking all things NON cards and home decor, so wracking my brains I decided to share this sweet treat packaging that I designed as my swaps for On Stage in Rotterdam this year!
The Creativity Abounds crew are a wonderful group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world who just love to share all things crafty with you. Each month we have a tutorial you can purchase (find out more below) and a blog hop. We also run three stamp camps a year, which are wonderful fun filled virtual events.
I recently shared an ‘in progress’ picture of my swaps for On Stage and lots of you asked for me to share the finished articles, so here they are – this non card blog hop was the perfect place to showcase them. I made 58 of these in total!
I used Balmy Blue and Night of Navy cardstock for the blue ones and Melon Mambo and Bubble Bath for the pink ones. I am actually going to be sharing how I made these on my YouTube live this week, so please do feel free to come and join us to see how they come together. The main cover for the sweet treat packaging is cut to 6 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ and scored at 2 1/2″ and 3 3/4″ on the long side. The two inner flaps are cut to 2″ x 4″ and scored on the short side at 1 3/4″ and on the long side at 1 3/8″ and 2 5/8″.
There is a bit of cutting and scoring required to create the tabs and the V shapes, so the video will probably much easier to watch than me trying to explain it!
The front flap is cut using one of the Thoughtful Expressions dies and scored in half to create the closure. A small notch is cut out of the side on the front and a flower on a dimensional holds the whole things closed. I thought that sentiment from the Sending Smiles stamp set was just perfect for gifting to demonstrators from all around Europe.
