How to make a Step-Fold Card – Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop Feb ’23…

How about a colour challenge and a fun fold, all in one, well that’s what you’ve got today with this tutorial for a Step-Fold Card in the colours Berry Burst, Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock, brought to you by the Stamptastic Friends.

The Stamptastic Friends are a global group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who come together to share lots of creative ideas and crafty inspiration. I love being a part of this team and can’t wait to see what the rest of the gang have in store for you this month using this bold colour challenge.

A step-fold card with pink flowers and a green background with the words "Hope your birthday is wonderful"

To make this Step-Fold Card you will need two pieces of Thick White (or coloured) cardstock, one measuring 10.5cm x 27cm (4 1/4″ x 10″) and one measuring 15.5cm x 7.5cm (5 1/2″ x 3″).

Score the larger piece of cardstock on the long side at 14.5cm, 17.5cm, 22.5cm and 25cm (5 1/2″, 6 1/2″, 8 1/2″ and 9 1/2″). Score the smaller piece on the long side at 10cm and 13cm (4″ and 5″).

I have used the Speciality DSP called Forever Love, because it had the most beautiful Pretty Peacock and Gold Foiled designs. I absolutely love it and think it made the perfect backdrop for the focal point of this card. You will need two pieces, one measuring 10cm x 14cm (4″ x 5 1/4″) and one measuring 10cm x 4.5cm (4″ x 1 7/8″).

To make the focal point, cut a piece of cardstock measuring 7cm x 9.5cm (2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″). This will fit on the front panel, but before adding it I ink blended some Pretty Peacock ink around the edges.

I stamped the flower from the Hooray for Surprises stamp set in Berry Burst, but I wanted it lighter so I stamped it off once for the main flowers and twice for the lightest flower. The leaves from the same set were cut from Lost Lagoon cardstock and the sentiment was stamped in Pretty Peacock ink.

All that was needed to finish were a few sequins and a bow in the most gorgeous of ribbon! Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed this tutorial showing how to make a step-fold card.
