I’m delighted to be able to join in with the Trip Achievers’ Blog Hop this month, and really enjoyed creating this beautiful blended background with the Stampin’ Up! inks and blending brushes. This blog hop brings you some amazing inspiration using current Stampin’ Up! product, and I can’t wait to see what the other achievers have been creating for us all.
I was very lucky to get my hands on the Stars at Night hybrid embossing folder and die set very early on, and love how it pairs in Silver Foil with this beautiful blended background.
The background is created by taking a piece of Basic White cardstock and sponging some Azure Afternoon (such a gorgeous colour) ink to the middle of it using one of our superb blending brushes. Then around the outside I sponged Starry Sky ink, making it darker and darker the further I went towards the edges.
To create the effect of stars, I used three different techniques. Firstly I used a water brush to flick lightly some drops of water. This reacts with our water based ink to create the most beautiful effect.
Then I took some sparkly Wink of Stellar and flicked that onto my background, I love how it sparkles in the light when we do this. Then lastly, I mixed some Craft White Ink with water and splattered that onto the card, just to give some more white speckles.
The stars are cut from Silver Foil and Silver Adhesive Backed Glimmer Paper, both currently available as an online exclusive. I placed the main star front and centre on dimensionals and the smaller stars around the edge of this. The lighter blue from the centre of the card helps to give the impression of the star shining in the sky which I love.
Here are the products I used for this card.
