I don’t know about you, but it normally takes me a year or so to really get into any new colours from Stampin’ Up! but this year I have vowed that I will introduce them more quickly into my crafting, and I think the key is learning which colours go with each other, to make gorgeous colour combos.
I did a little bit of exploration this week, trying to see which colours paired with each other, and focussed my efforts on the new In Colours. I created this fun chart, to help me see which colours might suit which others, and really enjoyed the process actually.
From this, I could see that Moody Mauve and Boho Blue both paired really nicely with Soft Sea Foam and the new Bubble Bath, so chose this as the starting point for my card. The stamp sets that were calling to be used were Two Tone Flora and Country Bouquet, as I thought the two would work really nicely together.
Because Soft Sea Foam and Bubble Bath are such light colours, I decided to stamp the Boho Blue and Moody Mauve off before stamping them onto my cardstock, just to give a lighter look overall and to help the colours blend together a little better.
The card base and papers are Boho Blue, I thought the hearts on the papers were a perfect match for the Country Bouquet stamp set. The die cut panel is from the Scalloped Contour dies, and once all the elements had been stamped and cut, I simply layered them together on the panel.

Watercolour Cardmaking Course
Bookings are now open for my new Watercolour Cardmaking Course, starting on Saturday 10th June 2023, with four zoom classes running over several months (to give you plenty of time to practice in between).
