How to make a Rainbow Card…

The Zany Zoo bundle is a new addition to my craft room, and as soon as I got my hands on it I just knew I wanted to use my Thursday night YouTube live to demonstrate how to make a rainbow card, using the cute characters in this set from Stampin’ Up!

This bundle is part of a brand new suite of products, but I wanted to show how to use it without the papers, and was instantly drawn to that cute racoon holding the balloons. You can see how both of these cards were made by heading to my YouTube channel.

The colours I chose to play with were Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Poppy Parade, Melon Mambo, Gorgeous Grape and Blueberry Bushel. The perfect colours for showcasing how to make a rainbow card!

The clouds were made using one of the dies from the Basic Borders dies, and a piece of printer paper. I simply cut the paper using the die and then used this as a mask, starting at the top of the page and working down.

The second card was inspired by the first, and for the circles I used the Stylish Shapes dies and a piece of acetate. I cut a piece of acetate about 9cm square, then cut a circle in it using the dies. I laid the acetate onto the card and used my blending brushes to blend ink through the aperture.

I used the black Stampin’ Write marker to add some dots around the edges of the circles and then coloured in the cute animals with my Stampin’ Blends, before popping them onto the circles using dimensionals.

A few gems and a couple of sentiments finish the card off nicely. Watch this video to see exactly how to make a rainbow card, and don’t forget to subscribe if you like what you see. If you hit the bell icon you will also be notified of any future videos, too!
