Stampin’ Up! In Colors Card – Creativity Abounds Blog Hop May 2022…

The Creativity Abounds theme for this month’s blog hop is Stampin’ Up! In Colors Cards. We were tasked to make a card to showcase one of more of the new 2022-2024 In Colors, and I wanted to show how these colours can work with our existing colours.

The new Stampin’ Up! In Colors are Starry Sky, Orchid Oasis, Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party and Sweet Sorbet. I’m guessing these names might not mean a lot to you so I thought I would make a little graphic to show you which colours they actually are!

I decided to use two of these colours today – probably my favourite two, Parakeet Party and Tahitian Tide. I just LOVE that gorgeous turquoise blue colour and it works so nicely with lots of our brights family of colours. I pulled out my Gorgeous Grape ink pad too, because I thought the three would make a fab pairing, and I don’t think I was wrong!

I kept this card fairly simple, mainly because I had totally forgotten about the blog hop and needed a quick card! This one came together in 20 minutes at 5.30am before I started work, so I know you’ll be able to replicate it easily enough. The card base is a standard Thick Basic White card base measuring 21cm x 14.5cm scored in half at 10.5cm. The Designer Series Paper (Which you can get free, as well as 5 ink pads, 20 sheets of coloured cardstock and more when you join my team in May – see below for more information!) measured 14cm x 10cm and the white die cut is from the Scalloped Contours dies.

I have used the gorgeous new True Beauty stamp set (image below) with its stunning floral images and beautiful sentiments. I must admit this is the stamp set’s first outing for me and I can’t wait to have a better play over the weekend. I stamped the stem in Parakeet Party and the flower in Gorgeous grape and then cut them out using the dies. I also cut out one of the sprigs and used a bit of ink blending to colour it in. I finished the card with a sentiment, a beautiful butterfly from the Brilliant Wings die set and some STUNNING ‘for everything fancy sequins’.

I hope that my card has inspired you to have a play (or purchase) the new Stampin’ Up! In Colors and make a card or two for yourself. If you need more inspiration, why not check out the rest of the gang’s posts using the links below – I am sure you’ll find some beautiful cards and projects.
