How to make a simple handmade thank you gift…

I am back with another video post for my series of small gifts, perfect for craft fairs, stocking fillers or, like this one, just a simple handmade thank you gift. This project is really quick and easy to put together and can be decorated however you like. I have used the Pansy Patch suite of products from Stampin’ Up! here, with papers, stamps and dies.

The box itself is really easy to make, all you need is two pieces of coloured cardstock (I used Fresh Freesia) measuring 6.5cm x 17.2cm and one piece of patterned paper measuring 3.3cm x 14cm. Score one of the pieces of cardstock at 1.5cm on all four sides and score one at just under 1.5cm on all four sides, maybe almost a millimetre. This difference will allow your box lid to fit onto the base.

On the piece that you scored just under 1.5cm, use a circle punch to make a thumb grip in both of the longest sides. This is now the lid of your box. Cut and notch the corners of the lid and the base to make flaps and then glue these in place to form the shape. If you would like to see how I did this, please do check out the video tutorial on YouTube, just click the photo below…

To decorate the box, I stuck on the piece of patterned paper and then fussy cut some small pansies from the same papers. The leaves are stamped in Soft Succulent ink (second generation) and then cut out. They just form such a lovely row of flowers on the front of the box! A few basic Rhinestones and a sentiment from the Many Messages stamp/die set really finish this handmade thank you gift off nicely.
