Fun and Fresh Birthday Card – Creativity Abounds Blog Hop Dec ’21…

With all the mayhem of Christmas going on it can be easy to forget that people still have birthdays, so I have got a fun and fresh birthday card for you today using a real mish-mash of stamps and dies, but I love it, and I hope that you will too.

This post is part of the Creativity Abound Blog Hop and we would like to welcome you to look around all of the different projects today. We are a group of very keen Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all around the world who are coming together to share our creative ideas with you.

You may be starting here or you may have come from someone else’s blog – either way there is a list at the end of this post to help you move around all the different blogs and get many amazing ideas.

My fun and fresh birthday card today features both the Colours and Contours stamp set and the Iconic dies. I absolutely love this little die set as it is stand alone and features some gorgeous dies. A bird, a bee, a mushroom and some ferns, leaves and flowers too. The colours I have used are Mint Macaron, Fresh Freesia and Pale Papaya. A beautiful trio I think.

I stamped the three flower outlines in Fresh Freesia onto Basic White card in full strength and then stamped the infill ‘second generation’ before cutting them out with my paper snips. The ferns and flowers are die cut from Basic White cardstock that had been ‘ink blended’ with Mint Macaron and Pale Papaya ink beforehand. This gives a much more subtle and tonal effect than just cutting them out from the coloured cardstock.

The background paper used is from the Hand Penned Petals suite, there are some amazing background papers in that set, and they can be used with so many of our stamps and dies. The ribbon is the Mint Macaron soft velvet ribbon and it is stuck to a piece of Basic White card that I cut using the scalloped die from the Colours and Contour bundle.

Can you spot the bit of stamping in Evening Evergreen too, those little background dots really help to bring the piece alive! I have finished it off with a sentiment and some genial gems, these are absolutely stunning and a must for any stash I reckon.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, and please do have a hop around the rest of the projects to get lots of inspiration for your friend’s and families birthdays.

Until next time, Happy Stamping!
