Hello and welcome to the Be Inspired blog hop, where our theme this month is Techniques, and I have made a Vintage Style Card, showcasing how to make a more vintage look to your project

I used the lovely Gallery Blooms stamp set for this card, I really love the images in the set, and how they looked when I stamped in Smoky Slate and then coloured in with some of my lighter Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. To me it looks almost watercoloured, what do you think?
I started with a Smoky Slate card base, and blended some Smoky Slate ink onto the edges of it once I had folded it in half. This added to the overall look, and complemented the next layer. This next layer is also Smoky Slate, cut to 14cm x 21cm.
First of all I stamped the pattern image from the set in Smoky Slate onto the front of it, though I didn’t use an acrylic block. By using my fingers I was able to get a more distressed look to the stamping. I then took an old pair of scissors and ruffed the edges up, it’s a bit tricky but just keep scraping the edge against the blade – be patient. I then rolled up two of the corners and added to my card front.

The large die shape is from the Perennial Postage dies, a new set to me! I sponged over some Petal Pink ink and added some splatters with my Stampin’ Blends too. Creating a vintage look is about lots of layers and textures, so this really adds to the overall effect.
I then stamped and coloured some of the images, before fussy cutting and adding with a mix of liquid glue and dimensionals. The bow is made by cutting a length of ribbon in half, lengthways, and then pulling apart the strands, before tying a bow. I love this effect and it creates a gorgeous bow.
A couple of gems and a sentiment really finish off this card, I hope you enjoyed learning a little more about how to make a Vintage Style Card, and maybe even have a go yourself!
