How to make a Triangle Treat Box – Creativity Abounds Blog Hop Nov ’24…

Hello and welcome to this month’s Creativity Now blog hop where we area focussing on all things treats and gifts, and I have a great tutorial for an easy Triangle Treat Box for you. I have made many of these over the years and they are always well received, I think the shape just makes it that bit more interesting!

The Creativity Abounds group publish twice a month, once is a blog hop and once a tutorial bundle, on sale for £11.50. If you would like even more 3D project ideas then this could be a great purchase for you. Simply head to https://thesongbirdstamper.co.uk/product/holiday-gift-and-treat-packaging/ to get yours now, with 13 projects in both metric and imperial. Here’s my project for the tutorial, a book style treat box that fits two small chocolate bars!

For my Triangle Treat Box I decided to use the gorgeous Petal Pink colour. This colour doesn’t get a lot of use at this time of year and it was feeling a bit unloved, so it came out to play and looks amazing paired with the Pecan Pie and Smoky Slate that I used to colour the amazing animals from the Christmas Friends Stamp Set.

If you are sitting there thinking, I wish I could colour like that, then please do consider coming to join the online version of my colouring course, as I would love to help you. You can find more information and book your place using the button below – we are even using this very same stamp set, and I am teaching both alcohol markers and watercolours too!

To make the box itself you will need a piece of Petal Pink Cardstock measuring 9.9cm x 21cm. The reason for the odd measurement is that here in the UK you will then get three of these from one sheet of A4 cardstock, and I LOVE the economy of that.

Score it in half on the long side at 10.5cm and then make a mark at the halfway line on the short side. For ease, just mark at 5cm, no one will notice the teeny tiny difference. Then, take a metal ruler and a stylus (or use your scoreboard or trimmer) and score a line between each of those marks on the end and the middle score line, as shown in the picture above.

To decorate I used one piece of Petal Pink DSP from the Snowy Scenes DSP and one piece of Basic White cardstock which I stamped all over with snowflakes in Petal Pink. Cut each of these to 9.4cm x 9.7cm and then make a mark on the short side at 4.7cm. Use this as a guide to cut your pieces into three triangles, cutting from the mark in the middle to each of the opposite corners.

To decorate the front I used a couple of circle dies, the Spotlight on Nature and the Stylish Shapes dies, but you can use whatever circles you have. I splattered the smaller one with Petal Pink ink and then layered together and stuck to the front of the box with dimensionals. I stamped the characters in Memento and coloured in using my Stampin’ Blends.

To close the box, fold it up into a triangle and then open one set of the flaps to allow you to punch a hole (using a crop-a-dile) through the opposite set, while they are together. This will mean your holes line up. Then switch and do the other side, thread a length of ribbon trough and tie in a bow at the top to finish your Triangle Treat Box!

Thank you so much for stopping by, I can’t wait to see what the rest of the Design Team have in store for you. Making 3D projects is one of my favourite things to do, so I am excited for this. Please do have a hop around and check out all the projects, and don’t forget the tutorial if you would like even more ideas.

Until next time, Happy Stamping!
