If you know me you will know I LOVE making treats and gifts, and so this blog hop was right up my street and I couldn’t wait to share this cute Christmas treat box with you – I made twenty of these for a recent swap at our team get together and they went down well I think. They are really easy to make, too!
I love being a part of the Stamptastic Friends group – they are such a lovely bunch of crafters and we come together once a month to share our love of creativity with you.
I decided to use the Reindeer Days suite for these, I am in love with this set of products and have made loads using it this year.
The main treat box itself is made from half a sheet of coloured cardstock, so you can get two out of one sheet of card which I love. I decided to make some from Pool Party and some from Garden Green, to accommodate the different colours in the DSP.
Cut your card down to 14.9cm x 19cm and score on the short side at 2cm, 12cm and 14cm. Turn and score on the long side at 2cm, 4cm, 10.5cm and 12.5cm. Fold and burnish all of the score lines then use the template at the bottom of the post to cut your box down to shape.
Cut a piece of Reindeer Days DSP to 9.5cm x 6cm and a piece of coordinating DSP (I used some from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ pack and some from the Reindeer Days pack) to 9.5cm x 2.5cm.
To make the belly band, I took a strip of Gold (for the green) or Silver (for the pool party) foil measuring 3cm x 28cm and wrapped it around the box. Once you have the bends in pace, use a bone folder to further crease them. Then simply affix at the front using a small bit of tape, making sure you don’t stick the band to the box otherwise you won’t be able to open it! Add your small piece of DSP to the front of the belly band.
Take a length of gold or silver ribbon and tie it around the belly band, using a glue dot to secure and tying a bow on the left hand side. To decorate the front, cut a couple of circles (I used the Stylish Shapes and Spotlight on Nature dies) and splatter the smaller one with a coordinating colour, pool party or garden green.
Stamp the double deer die in Memento Black Ink and colour in using Pecan Pie and Crumb Cake. I used the light Pecan Pie to colour the top part and then coloured the whole thing in light crumb cake. That gave me the mottled effect on the top which I was really pleased with.
All it needed to finish this cute Christmas treat box was a few Peppermint Gems and a stamped sentiment which I fussy cut out – oh, and don’t forget to pop the chocolate in too!
That’s all from me, but please do have a hop around and see what other projects the team have lined up for you – Thank you, and Happy Stamping
