Hello and welcome to this month’s Color Fusers Blog Hop, where we are back in the land of pinks and purples – wahooooo!!I haven’t made many non traditional Christmas cards this year, having mainly stuck to reds and greens, so it was nice to play with something a bit different this month.
The Colour Fusers are a lovely bunch of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who bring you a colour challenge every month, and who love to inspire you to get creative, so why not have a go at this yourself!
I absolutely adore purple, so starting with a Fresh Freesia card base was a no brainer for me – I then used both Fresh Freesia and Berry Burst to lightly sponge some colour onto the background of a basic white mat. I kept it really light here and focussed the deeper colour over to the bottom right corner.
I love all the cute little stamps in the Snowy Wonder stamp set, especially the gorgeous little snowflake, so I stamped this all over my background in a mix of stamped off (2nd Generation) Berry Burst and Fresh Freesia. You really want a subtle effect here, so check on some scrap paper and keep stamping off if necessary.
I used the Spotlight on Nature and Stitched Shapes dies to cut two circles, one in white and one in Silver Foil, to act as a focal point and stuck this on with dimensionals.
I stamped the cute snowman from the same Snowy Wonder stamp set in Basic Grey and used the third colour from the challenge, Azure Afternoon, to add a touch of icy blue, fading to white by using the colour lifter.
All that was left was a sentiment stamped in Fresh Freesia and some brilliant die cut snowflakes cut from Silver Foil – I dotted these around the background with some random white little flowers I had on my desk which I thought kind of looked like snowflakes too!
Add some bling and the card is complete!
Thank you for stopping by, and until next time, Happy Stamping xx
