Watercolour Emboss Resist Technique – Trip Achievers’ Blog Hop Jan ’24…

Hello and welcome to today’s Trip Achiever’s Blog Hop, where today I have made a birthday card for you using the wonderful watercolour emboss resist technique and a gorgeous new stamp and die bundle called Lifetime of Love. The flowers are just so gorgeous!

I am so delighted to be able to take part in these blog hops this year, with a wonderful group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world that earned the Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip for the 2022/23 Stampin’ Up! year .

Only about 1% of all the Demonstrators earn this trip every year and in April, we will be going to Mexico and staying 5 nights at the Hotel Xcaret México.  This is going to be an amazing trip and I am so grateful for my team and the support of my customers to allow this to happen for me, thank you!

I am back to using my all time favourite colours for this card, Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green! So pretty! The DSP is actually from the Lighter than Air DSP that goes with the Hot Air Balloon suite, I just love that pretty design and how well it worked with the colours I had chosen.

The images from the Lifetime of Love bundle were stamped with Versamark and then heat embossed with white heat embossing powder, on Watercolour Cardstock, before I watercoloured them using the Stampin’ Up! water based inks. This is called the watercolour emboss resist technique.

These were die cut using the co-ordinating dies, and I also cut out one of the big oval shape with the flowers attached. Instead of throwing away the inner section though, I kept it and stuck it back in, kind of an inlay technique, when I adhered everything to the front of the card base.

A few gems, some white leaf die cuts (from the same die set), some beautiful ribbon and a fussy cut sentiment were all that was needed to finish this card off nicely.

I hope that you love this card as much as I do and that you have fun hopping through the links below to see what everyone else has made to inspire you.

Until next time, Happy Stamping! xx
