Make a centre step card for Christmas…

Over on my YouTube channel this week I demonstrated how to make a centre step card for Christmas, using the gorgeous Boughs of Holly suite of products. I actually made this as a challenge card for the recent Stamp Camp that I took part in, a Tic Tac Toe challenge, and I chose Fancy Fold, Embossing and Foil as my three elements.

The tutorial for how to make this centre step card is over on my YouTube Channel, just hit the picture below to head straight there, but because the measurements are a little tricky I have added them here, too, with a little diagram, just keep reading for more info.

To make the card you will need a piece of Real Red cardstock measuring 14cm x 21cm. On the short side, line it up at the 3cm mark and cut down from 2.5cm to 13cm (or 1″ to 5 1/8″ if you have an imperial cutting bar like me!) Then line it up, still on the short side, at 11cm and do the same.

Then rotate the cardstock and on the long side score it at 2.5cm, 5cm and 13cm from each edge of the card to each score line, on the outsides. Then score it at 10.5cm in between the score lines. Hopefully your piece of card will look something like the following. (Not to scale!!)

To decorate the card, I fussy cut and die cut some elements, added them to a gold foil circle and then layered them onto a square of paper measuring 7.5cm x 7.5cm. This was added to a mat of card measuring 8cm x 8cm which fits the centre step perfectly.

The pieces of paper that I used to decorate the rest of the card measure 2cm x13.5cm for the bottom strip and 2.5cm x 7.5cm for the two side strips. The piece of white for the sentiment is 6cm x 1.5cm
