Easy Handmade Cards – Tech 4 Stampers Blog Hop June ’22…

The theme of this months Tech 4 Stampers Blog Hop is ‘Keep It Simple’, and what better title for this blog post then than easy handmade card. Sometimes we think we have to go all out to make fancy and intricate cards, but that really isn’t so, and sometimes simple really is just as good (if not better!!)

The Tech 4 Stampers are a wonderful group of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators all learning and developing in the world of technology. But our first love is papercrafting, so we are here to share with you all some incredible designs to help inspire you on your own crafting journey.

For my Easy Handmade Card today I have used the ‘This Birthday Piggy’ stamp set, with its gorgeous lined drawings just perfect for some colouring in. I know that when people start out cardmaking, they don’t have a huge sum of money to spend out all in one go, so I have coloured these cute little critters in using the Stampin’ Up! watercolour pencils, a much more cost effective way to get started than with the incredible Stampin’ Blends.

This Birthday Piggy Stamp Set from Stampin' Up! with cute lined image drawings of piggies and some charming sentiments.

I haven’t even used any water with these, or a blender pen even. I simply stamped in Memento Black Ink onto Basic White Cardstock (that I cut first with the Stitched Rectangles Dies) and set to colouring with the pencils. I love how you can create real depth between the light and the dark, simply by pressing harder or softer with the pencil, and over the two sets you get a great range of colours too.

For my card today I used Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Real Red, Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, Pacific Point, Basic Grey and Basic Black.

To purchase both of these sets, Assortment 1 and Assortment 2, it would cost you £26.75, and with the fact that they are Watercolour Pencils you’ve got lots of ways of using them!

Anyway, back to the card! The coloured mat you can see here is cut from Flirty Flamingo cardstock, and the whole panel is fixed onto a card base made from Thick Basic White Cardstock. I loved how this simple yet oh so cute design came together and felt that all it needed was a simple sentiment and three sequins from the For Everything Fancy Sequins pack. I might be in love a little bit with these!

The sentiment for this Easy Handmade card is stamped onto a scrap of Basic White Cardstock and die cut using one of the banner dies from the Stylish Shapes die set – an all time favourite with me. I stuck this on dimensionals just to give it a bit of height and, het presto, the card is finished.

I hope that you enjoyed this little tutorial and enjoy hopping around to see what the rest of the gang have got in store for you.

Until next time, Happy Stamping! xx
