Cardmaking Sketch Challenge – Casually Crafting Design Team October ’21 Blog Hop…

Our blog hop this month is a cardmaking sketch challenge – these can be a really great way to start you off making a card when you just don’t know what to make. You get to choose stamps, papers and colours of your own and you can interpret this design however you like.

I am hopping today with the lovely Casually Crafting Design Team, a group of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who want to share our take on Casual Crafting with you, keeping things fun and achievable for all. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the gang have got in store for you, just check out the links at the bottom of the page.

A handmade card made for a cardmaking sketch challenge using the Be Jolly stamp set from Stampin' Up!

I wanted some fun and easy colouring in for my card, so I picked up the Be Jolly stamp set, a lovely set with the cutest Santa Claus, perfect. And I paired it with the gorgeous Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper. Maybe not the first choice of products to go together but I think it really works!

The card base is Real Red cardstock 14.5cm x 21cm scored in half at 10.5cm, and the DSP layer is 14cm x 10cm. The strip down the middle is Real Red cardstock again, 14cm x 3.5cm and the DSP here is 14cm x 3cm. My 2 panels are Real Red cardstock 8.5cm x 5.5cm and Basic White 8cm x 5cm.

I stamped and coloured the Santa’s on scrap Basic White card and then fussy cut them out. The greenery stamp is from my all time favourite Merry Moments stamp set, I simply added a few ‘sprigs’ in the corner of the white panel and also a sentiment, from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set.

A fairly quick and simple card for you today, but wow – how much fun to make! Why not have a go at this cardmaking sketch challenge for yourself, I would love to see what you make!

Until next time, Happy Stamping
