Hello and welcome, everyone!
After our last venture into the world of industrial grunge, I think it’s time to switch gears (pun intended!) and dive head-first back into the beautiful, soft world of spring blooms and pastel colours. I have been playing with some absolutely stunning upcoming products today, and I just had to share this gorgeous birthday card with you!
This project features the new Lovely Arrangements Stamp Set, some exquisite “Lovely and Beautiful” Foiled DSP, and the super-handy Beautifully Adorned Ephemera Pack. If you love quick, elegant layering, you are going to need these on your wish list!
I chose a lovely, fresh, and slightly unexpected colour palette for this card that just sings! We have Fresh Freesia (the purple), soft Petal Pink (the hint of peach), and the gorgeous Peach Pie (a lovely sunny yellow).
The background paper—the “Lovely and Beautiful” DSP—is truly divine. It features soft washes of colour, and some of the designs have a gorgeous subtle foil detail that catches the light so beautifully! It does all the hard work for you.
💡 Top Tip: The Double-Sided DSP Trick
To create the perfectly coordinating background shown in the photo, take one piece of your gorgeous “Lovely and Beautiful” DSP and cut it to the size needed for your mat layer (either 14cm x 10cm or 5 1/4″ x 4″)
- Slice the piece at 4cm (1 1/4″) down the 10cm (4″) width.
- Turn the smaller slice over to show the B-side (the contrasting pattern).
- Adhere both pieces side-by-side onto the Basic White Mat Layer.
Before adding your stamped focal panel, wrap the Timid Tiger Ribbon around this Mat Layer, securing it at the back before adhering the whole thing to your card base!
Assembly & Layering
The focal point is, of course, the flowers! I used the Lovely Arrangements Stamp Set to create those beautiful layered blooms. Using the coordinating colours Fresh Freesia, Petal Pink, Peach Pie and stamped off Old Olive for the leaves. This gives them a nice pop of dimension.
But the real magic comes from the Beautifully Adorned Ephemera Pack! These pre-cut pieces—like the soft, translucent leaves and the tiny gold speckles—are fabulous for filling out your arrangement without any extra stamping or die-cutting. Just a few well-placed pieces beneath the main stamped bouquet and you have instant elegance!
I finished by popping my sentiment banner up on Dimensionals for extra height.
This suite is perfect for making those beautiful, soft projects quickly and easily! I am absolutely obsessed with how the ephemera coordinates so seamlessly with the stamped images.
