Perfect birthday card for a teenage boy – Creativity Abounds Blog Hop April ’26…

I think I have got the perfect birthday card for a teenage boy for you today, especially if they love racing cars! The creativity abounds blog hop team are focussing on children’s cards this month, and I loved using the new Ready, Set, Go stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

To make the card I started with a Basic White cardbase, and then added a Poppy Parade layer – whatever sizes you usually use for making your cards. I go for 21cm x 14.85cm, scored at 10.5cm, and a layer of 10.1cm x 14.4cm. You then need another piece of Basic White card measuring 9.7cm x 14cm.

Use some Secret Sea ink to stamp the skid marks all over the white cardstock, keeping them all horizontal, but varying the width of them, stamping on and off the page. Before adhering this to the Poppy Parade card, use a blending brush and blend some secret sea ink around the edges.

Take some scrap white cardstock and stamp one of each cars, three cones, one flag and one Happy Birthday sentiment. Use your Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers to colour the cards and cones in – I used Poppy Parade, Basic Grey, Pumpkin Pie and Misty Moonlight, with a colour lifter to get those highlights in too.

Cut out all of the elements (use a sentiment die for the sentiment) and then adhere them to the front of the cardstock. I stuck the flag and cones flat, and the cars and sentiment with dimensionals. That is the card finished – this simplistic style helps create the perfect birthday card for a teenage boy!
