A pop of colour – Color Fusers Blog Hop – May 2024…

Hello and welcome to the May Color Fuser’s Blog Hop, where we have an intriguing combination for you, and one I found a bit of a challenge if I am honest, opting in the end for a fairly neutral card with a pop of colour and some gold accents.

Sometimes a color challenge can really inspire you, and other times it is more as the name suggests, a challenge, but I find them so much fun and am loving being part of this fun and friendly group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world.

Please do be sure to check out all of the hops using the links at the end of this post for more inspiration using this colour challenge.

Seeing Pebbled Path in this combo threw me a little, so I decided to take inspiration from my paper stash, and this beautiful (and carrying over!) Nature’s Sweetness paper caught my eye, with its beautiful gold foiling. So then out came my gold foil!

A gold and grey panelled handmade card with a pop of color in pink, with a hummingbird and a floral and leaf image.

The card base itself is Pebbled Path, cut to 14.5cm x 21cm and scored in half at 10.5cm. I cut two pieces of the scripty paper to 4.3cm x 8cm and added these to some more Pebbled Path card measuring 4.7cm x 8.4cm.

I also cut two pieces of Gold Foil measuring 4.3cm x 4.5cm and two more pieces of card measuring 4.7cm x 4.9cm. I debossed the card using the Basics 3D Embossing Folders. This was actually an accident, but I quite like the debossed rather than the embossed look!

xFor the pop of colour, I brought in the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set with the beautiful floral and hummingbird images, which I coloured in using the Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers in Pebbled Path, Bubble Bath and Moody Mauve. I used the Color Lifter too, to create some nice highlights on the bird and flowers.

The die cut leaves and flowers are from the Stippled Roses set, I love the detail on these and think they really accentuate the floral display here. I also love how it looks like the hummingbird is just lining up to take some nectar from the flowers!

To finish the card, I added a sentiment heat embossed in white onto Pebbled Path card and some of the most beautiful Iridescent Foiled Gems – they have gold flecks inside the gems, so pretty.

I hope that you enjoyed this card as much as I did making it! Until next time, Happy Stamping xx
