Masculine Christmas Card – Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop October ’22…

The theme of our Blog Hop this month is Christmas, and as soon as I saw the Lights Aglow Designer Series Paper with those greens and blacks I knew I wanted to make a Masculine Christmas Card. Mittens are for everyone come Christmas, surely!

The Stamptastic Friends are a small group of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who come together each month to offer you inspiration and creative ideas for your own papercrafting. The links to the other posts are at the bottom, be sure to check them out and see what the guys have been up to.

I saw a card sketch online somewhere, which is where I got my inspiration from here, with the Designer Series Paper cut into a V shape, layered onto another piece and then a circle focal point front and centre.

The colours that I have used for this Masculine Christmas Card are Basic Black, Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent, all paired with some gorgeous Gold Foil. So sumptuous!!

The Lights Aglow Designer Series Paper is 6″ x 6″ and comes with some deep reds too – Think Cherry Cobbler for those who know their Stampin’ Up! colours. It is a speciality paper because it is FOILED!!! Gold Foil details run through each of the sheets, which just make this so special.

The card is a standard UK card base, 14.5cm x 21cm scored in half at 10.5cm. The black paper is cut to 14cm x 10cm and layered directly on the front. The light green paper measures 6cm x 14cm, and I cut a V shape in it using my Stampin’ Trimmer. I offset it slightly, so the narrowest part is further to the bottom than centre. I placed a small strip of gold foil to the left of this piece as I layered it onto the black paper.

The focal point is created using two of the layering circles dies, with one cut from gold foil and one cut from Basic White cardstock. I stamped two of the mittens from the Celebrate with Tags stamp set (AMAZING!!!) in Evening Evergreen and used the co-ordinating dies to cut these out. Also in the die set is that lovely snowflake – you guessed it, I cut more in gold foil!

A simple gold embossed sentiment and a gold twine bow finish off this Masculine Christmas card nicely – I hope you like it as much as I do.
