The theme of this month’s blog hop is ‘Summer Events’, and I really wanted to use some of our amazing new Designer Series Paper to make a mini-album, ready for all of those Summer holiday photographs. Only problem is, we aren’t having a Summer holiday this year!! Lol. This will be ready and waiting for me when we do go away next though, and will hopefully inspire you to make an album of your own with your favourite papers.
The Stamptastic friends are a lovely bunch of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who want to share their passion for all things crafty with you, so do be sure to hop around using the links at the bottom of this post for more ideas and inspiration.
I make my mini albums using greyboard for the outside cover, and then cardstock for the pages. These are so quick and easy to put together once you know how, and I even have a PDF tutorial over in my tutorials section, so you can get all of the measurements and instructions, but for today I just really wanted to show you how incredible this new Blackberry Beauty Speciality Designer Series Paper is, with its sumptuous purples and golds.
Those owls really reminded me of Harry Potter, as do the colours too, they have such a magical feel to them and would be perfect for recording a special trip to either Leavesdon Studios in the UK or The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in the USA (which I am still dreaming of going to!!)
These albums are such a cute size too, measuring 5″ x 4 1/2″ x 2″, I have a small stack of them on my bookcase now, slowly being filled with photos which I print on my home printer. When you make a mini-album this size you don’t need to spend a fortune on 6″ x 4″ photos either which is a bonus!
There are some awesome co-ordinating products which go with these papers, firstly, the Blackberry Beauty Ephemera Pack, with 40 pre-cut pieces just perfect for adorning your projects. There are tags, labels, frames, flowers and even an amazing owl too. And then there is the stunning Gold Shimmer Ribbon…. WOW!!!
I do hope this project will give you a push to make a mini-album for yourself, it really is one of my favourite things to do, and really showcases all of that gorgeous paper that we crafters end up hoarding. The bonus, you get to keep it all too, unless you are mighty generous and give away your album as a gift, they are good for that as well.
Make sure you have a hop around and see what the rest of the crew have got lined up for you, I can’t wait to see either…
Until next time, Happy Stamping xx

I will be running another Stampin’ Blends Course, starting in September 2021, where, amongst many other things, I will teach the no-line colouring technique, how to add lowlights with greys, using pencils and markers together, creating skin tones and many other techniques too.
The course is still available for £60 as an online version only, with four zoom lessons, a dedicated Facebook group, a comprehensive course guide and several bonus lessons too.
