The Creativity Abounds Blog Hop Team are back with projects made with products from the recently released Online Exclusives or Mini Catalogue – and this soft, subtle snowflakes Christmas card is made using a real mix of new goodies. I had a lot of fun making it.
The main set I used here is the Snowflake Kisses bundle, it has a great mix of dies and some lovely wintery sentiments too. I also brought in the Delicate Pines and Branching Out dies. The Delicate pines dies have a lovely looking pine branch snowflake and the Branching Out dies have a great set of nesting stitched labels dies.
The Snowflake Kisses dies have this really cool cut in element, which I used on the corners of the card here, can you see it? I die cut two from a standard mat of cardstock, and then overlaid it onto another standard mat, which I had used my inks and blending brushes to sponge on some super pale colours.
I opted for Pool Party, Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath, to give this soft subtle snowflakes card a great base. I die cut some of the small snowflakes from the set too, in white, and stuck them on just to add a bit of interest.
I also die cut two of the pine type snowflakes from the Elegant Pines die set and sponged a bit more ink onto them – one in Pool Party and one in Bubble Bath.
To make the focal point, I cut one of the dies from the Branching Out dies in Bubble Bath and one in Basic White. I stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape, layered the two together and then added to the card front with dimensionals, but not before sticking down a length of the stunning Balmy Blue sheer ribbon.
