Delicate Whispers – Color Fusers Blog Hop – April ’26

Hello and welcome to this month’s Color Fusers Blog Hop, and I’ve created a stylish birthday card using the Delicate Whispers bundle, and a gorgeous colour combo that I really wouldn’t have thought of using… in fact, one of these colours has barely seen light of day in my craft room… can you guess which?

I have really enjoyed playing with the Delicate Whispers bundle from Stampin’ Up! with those gorgeous floral dies and coordinating stamps that are just perfect for colouring in, this set was the obvious choice for me today.

One of the first things I do with a colour challenge, once I have chosen my bundle, is to look for papers and embellishments that match with the colours I am working with. Today I managed to find some fantastic DSP in Secret Sea, from the Peaceful Garden paper pack – this one has been around a while, and it technically a Winter themed pack, but you would honestly never tell!

I cut a circle from the paper with the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes dies, and also added in some secret sea ribbon too – I love the sheer look on this one, and it lends itself really well to the card, with delicate floral images.

To create the background, I used the Lazy Daisy 3D embossing folder – I actually don’t even remember buying this one, but absolutely love the design on it. I wrapped the ribbon round the embossed white card before layering onto the Secret Sea card base, and then set about embellishing that DSP paper circle that we cut a minute ago.

I stamped two of the smaller flowers and one leaf sprig in Secret Sea ink, and then coloured them in with my favourite Stampin’ Blends. I die cut one leaf sprig in white card, one twig in Secret Sea and three small flowers in white card too. You could go to town with this, but I thought that was all that was needed. A simple Happy Birthday sentiment finished the card off perfectly.
