Hello and welcome to this month’s Color Fusers Blog Hop where have got a gorgeous (though slightly unusual) colour combo for you, and I am showcasing the new Branching Out bundle from Stampin’ Up! This month we have got Crumb Cake, Pretty Peacock and Blackberry Bliss, not three colours I would have put together, but they SO work!

The first thing that I do when I get given a colour challenge is to get all three ink pads out on my desk, to really see the colours. I then have a glance over each of my stamp sets and pick out a couple that I think will work with the combo – usually there is one that calls me way more than the others, and this time it was Branching Out.

I could see the leaves in Pretty Peacock, the branch in Crumb Cake and the berries in Blackberry Bliss – just a pop though, it doesn’t need more than this. I also went for a Crumb Cake card base and added some gold embossing powder and foil too, for a bit of extra bling.

I used the Forever Plaid embossing folder to add some texture to my crumb cake mat, then swiped over a Versamark Pad before heat embossing with gold powder. I love the rustic look this gives the card. I added to that by blending some Crumb Cake card to the edges too – a great way effect and so easy to do.

I stamped a lot of the images to create a scene onto one of the die cut shapes from the coordinating Branching Out die set, and then also cut several leaves, berries and pine cones from white card. I sponged ink onto these to give them some colour. I really like how the mix of stamped background images and sponged foreground images comes together here.
