A Cute Christmas Gift – Creativity Abounds Blog Hop November ’25…

The Creativity Abounds Blog Hop Team are back our gift giving blog hop, and I have got a cute Christmas gift idea for you, perfect for a little thank you for friends, or maybe even neighbours or just those who you want to recognise this holiday season.

I had some lovely red candles hanging around in my craft room, so decided to use the Traditions of Christmas Suite to decorate one and make a lovely little gift box for it. Sadly these papers are out of stock at the moment in the UK, but you can recreate this with any colour candle and any papers that you have, so happy choosing!

The candle was super simple to decorate, just a length of gold foil measuring 25cm, wrapped around the candle and glued down at the end. You want to make sure it is removeable, as I wouldn’t suggest lighting the candle with the decoration on – make sure you tell the recipient too!! I added a length of ribbon tied in a bow, and a stamped and coloured floral image too, so pretty.

The box itself is super simple to make, too, all you need is some thick white card measuring 25.5cm x 25.5cm. Score it on all four sides at 9cm, cut to make tabs and glue to make a box. The lid is also made from thick basic white card measuring 11.5cm x 11.5cm. Score this at just under 2cm on all four sides, cut and glue to make a box lid.

To decorate, I used some of the Traditions of Christmas DSP, for the main box the four pieces measure 7.1cm x 8.1cm and for the lid I used four pieces measuring 1.1cm x 7.1cm and one piece measuring 7.2cm x 7.2cm. I used the Spotlight on nature dies to decorate the top, with Gold Foil and basic white card, along with a little sentiment strip and its Real Red border.

The sentiment is stamped in Real Red and the little twigs in Old Olive to complement the DSP. I hope you have a go at making a cute Christmas gift like this for yourself, and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
