How to Stamp Off – Color Fusers Blog Hop – August ’25

Hello and welcome to this month’s Color Fusers Blog Hop where we are working with the colours Darling Duckling, Basic Grey and Basic White, and I am going to explain how to stamp off, in case you are new to stamping. I really love the colour combo of grey and yellow, so was really pleased to see this one this month.

That said, I must say I find Darling Duckling just a little dark for some of my needs, and that is where the amazing (yet oh so simple) technique of stamping off comes in to play. By using this technique we can get even more tones of colour from our ink pads, and lighten them up.

All you need to do is ink your stamp up in the normal way, then before you stamp onto your cardstock simply stamp first onto some scrap paper, then go onto your cardstock without re-inking. I find that the longer I press onto the scrap paper, the lighter my second impression will be, which is useful to know.

That’s all you need to know for how to stamp off! Why not have a go next time you sit down to craft.

I am hoping you can see that I have also used this technique with the Basic Grey, to give myself two tones – a lighter and a darker. I love the contrast that this gives, it really helps to liven up the card, especially when you are only working with two colours.

The stamp sets that I used for this card are Terrific Toadstools and Elements of Text – this one is new to me but I was inspired to buy it by a couple of my team mates, who made cards very similar to this one – thanks guys!

I stamped the Elements of Text background stamps directly to Basic White card and then stamped the other images onto scrap card, before fussy cutting them out and adding with some wet glue or dimensionals. A simple sentiment and a few Basic Grey Pearls just finished it off nicely, and a double mat helped it stand out.
