Bright and Bold Coneflower Celebrations – Be Inspired Blog Hop Aug ’25…

Hello and welcome to the Be Inspired blog hop, where our theme this month is Bright and Bold, and I have made a card using the gorgeous Coneflower Celebrations stamp set, showcasing a variety of techniques. I hope you agree that I have met the brief!!

I absolutely loved making this card, with a mix of colouring with alcohol markers, and ink blending using our brilliant blending brushes. This is a slightly larger card than usual, which I think really works well with the Bright and Bold theme!

To start with I grabbed a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock measuring 10″ x 7″. I scored it in half at 5″ to make my card base. I cut a pieces of white card, measuring 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ and stuck it straight on to the card base. Then I cut a piece of pre embossed card from the Irresistible Designs speciality measuring 4 5/8″ x 6 5/8″.

I used my blending brushes and some Melon Mabo ink to sponge ink around the edge of this pre embossed card (so easy to use!) and then I flicked some water and Wink of Stella over the background, just to liven it up a bit and create a bit of texture. And who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle!

To create the focal point I cut three layers of card, two white measuring 3 1/8″ x 5 1/8″ and one measuring 2 7/8″ x 4 7/8″. I also cut one piece of Melon Mambo card measuring 3″ x 5″. I took the smaller piece of white, drew a border in black fineliner around the edge and then flicked ink using my Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends, before layering the three pieces together and adding with dimensionals.

The flower, leaves and butterfly are stamped with Memento black ink and coloured in using Stampin Blends, in Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lime Twist. When colouring, leave a little white space on the bottom of the petals and then use a Colour Lifter to give a soft effect.

A simple sentiment on a strip of white, layered onto Melon Mambo, and some gems was all that was needed to finish up this Bright and Bold card. Oh, and lots of Wink of Stella on the flower petals too – so pretty!
