Charming Day Floral Card – Be Inspired Blog Hop July ’25…

Hello and welcome to the Be Inspired blog hop, where our theme this month is Floral Fun (my favourite!!), and I have made a card using the gorgeous Charming Day bundle, showcasing how to make a fun blended background with a bit of heat embossing added in.

I used this suite in a recent class of mine and the cards were really popular, and I was on a roll with creating so I just kept going and ended up with this one – the Charming Day suite is so great for all your colouring techniques.

To start with I grabbed a piece of Basic White cardstock measuring 14cm x 10cm and stamped the large and smaller flower images all over it repeatedly, before heat embossing with gold powder. I love the look of this line art stamp used like this. I then used Mossy Meadow and Old Olive to create an ink blended ombre look with my blending brushed – dark at the bottom and lighter nearer the top.

I then flicked some water over the background, just to liven it up a bit and create a bit of texture. The main focal image is stamped in Memento and coloured in using my Stampin’ Blends – I love these alcohol markers. I used Mossy Meadow and Old Olive for the leaves, with Peach Pie and Highland Heather for the flowers, just for a real pop of colour.

The large die shape is from the Stylish Shapes dies, and I cut it from Mossy Meadow card, adding a slightly smaller Basic White layer and a slightly bigger Gold layer – I think the triple layer helps to pop the focal point. I used my blends to splatter some Old Olive ink onto the white square and then stuck it flat onto the card front.

The flower is adhered with dimensionals, just to help it really stand out, and I added a few gems too – no card is complete without a little sparkle! To make the bow I took some of our Gold Striped Mesh Ribbon and cut it in half lengthways, to make two long strips. I then tied them both in a bow and affixed with a glue dot.

A simple sentiment to finish this Charming Day card was all that was needed. The whole card front is on a Thick Basic White Base, just to help the colours of the blending show through.

I can’t wait to see what everyone else has made for us this month – please do hop along using the button below.
