The Creativity Abounds Blog Hop team are focussing on all things Christmas or gift giving this month, and I have made a slightly alternative Christmas card for you all. I focussed on gift giving for our tutorial this month (which you can purchase using the links below) so wanted to do Christmas for the blog hop. Only problem – I don’t own any current Christmas sets!

So, not owning any current Christmas sets, I had to think a little out of the box for this one, hence my alternative Christmas card. I had the Painterly Pears suite on my desk and suddenly the words ‘Partridge in a pear tree’ came into my head, and I decided to run with it and see what came up!
I actually didn’t use the pear stamps in the end, though I did use a couple of the others in the set. Instead I cut the pears out of the DSP, I love that you get so many images in the paper to choose from. I also used some of the patterned paper for the background too.

I cut a rectangle of white card using the Textured Notes dies, and gold embossed the splatter stamp onto it, just for a bit of interest. I figured that any good Christmas Card needs some red flowers, so stamped the image in Versamark and heat embossed with white powder, onto watercolour card so I could watercolour with Real Red ink.
The sentiment came from the brilliant Greetings for All Mix and Match Ephemera Pack – I love having these on hand for when I need a quick and easy sentiment. A couple of last final touches, by the way of a couple of gems and a ribbon bow – I love the ribbon that comes with this suite, a gorgeous green and gold!
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed seeing how I made this Alternative Christmas Card, and hope you enjoy all the other projects that the rest of the team have in store for you.
Until next time, Happy Stamping!
