I absolutely love this new 2024-2026 In Color range and have been creating sooooo many things with them. They are beautiful on their own, with our existing complement colours or even as a set of colors together. I keep trying to see which is my favourite, but I am really not sure!

I love that you can get papers, gems, inks, alcohol markers, ribbon, card and more in the matching colours, it makes my crafting so much easier and more professional looking too I think. I made one of these cards and then just couldn’t stop until I had one in each of the new colours. I used Shy Shamrock to colour the leaves, so this one features on all of them!

To make this faux stepper card I used a single piece of coloured cardstock and cut it down to 10.5cm x 27cm and 7cm x 27cm. I used my paper trimmer to score the 10.5cm wide piece on the long side at 9cm, 18cm and 22.5cm and score the 7cm wide piece on the long side at 14cm.

Fold the wider piece concertina style so that it has two ‘peaks’ and then decorate with a mat of white card and some coordinating Designer Series Paper. The two mats measure 10cm x 8.5cm and 10cm x 4cm and the two pieces of DSP measure 9.5cm x 8cm and 9.5cm x 3.5cm.

Fold the thinner piece of card in half, and with the stepper section closed, stick it with the longer edge on the back and flush to the bottom. You will notice that the front edge doesn’t come flush to the bottom, that’s ok, just keep the card ‘closed’ and stick the overlap down. This makes your faux stepper card.

To decorate this front panel I cut a piece of white card measuring 6.5cm x 12.5cm and splattered some ink using my Smoky Slate blends. Luckily we can add a few neutrals into these colour challenges, which was perfect for the vase today.

I used the wonderful returning Everyday Details stamp set and stamped the vase and flowers onto a scrap piece of white, in Memento ink, and coloured it in using my Stampin’ Blends. Once cut out this was the perfect topper for my card, with a simple sentiment stamped in black, some white dies cut leaves and a few coordinating sparkly gems to finish.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial on how to make a faux stepper card and most importantly I hope I have inspired you to have a go at using the new 2024-2026 In Color range for yourself.
