How to make a Diagonal Lid Box – Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop April ’23…

The theme for this month’s Stamptastic Friends Blog Hop is ‘Favourite Tool’ and I must say I was stuck for choice to begin with, as I love so many of our tools, but in the end I decided I would be lost without my trusty Paper Trimmer, so decided to make this Diagonal Lid Box to demonstrate just how useful a little paper trimmer can be. Every month the Stamptastic Friendse come together to share with you the very best of Stampin’ Up! with cards and projects on a specific theme. Thank you so much for stopping by today and […]

How to make a flower filled box frame – Tech 4 Stampers Blog Hop April ’23…

Our theme for this month’s blog hop is something square, and this frame was just sat on my shelf shouting at me, so I decided to show you how to make a flower filled box frame, perfect as a gift of for keeping on display in your own home. The best thing? The flowers never die! I got my frame from Hobbycraft in the UK, and it is a 7″ frame with a 6″ aperture, just the right size for a wreath like this. To make my flower filled box frame I used the Two Tone Flora stamp set from […]

How to use heat embossing and alcohol markers…

I was asked to create a tip/technique based post for the Artisan Design Team, and I knew almost immediately that I wanted to show people how to use heat embossing and alcohol markers together. If you were to stamp and heat emboss an image, and then try to colour it in, you have two big problems. Firstly, the alcohol marker ink would get onto the heat embossed image and make it look really messy, and secondly, the ink in the markers can react with the embossed area and damage the pens! This tip shows a way around both of these […]

How to use the emboss resist technique in cardmaking…

Going through my stamp sets for inspiration for my YouTube live, I realised I hadn’t ever used the gorgeous Pretty Medallion stamp, so I thought what better than a little tutorial using this background stamp with the emboss resist technique, both with watercolouring and with ink blending too. Heat embossing is still like magic to me every time I do it, and I love how many different techniques you can use with it too. These are two fairly simple techniques but ones that really add a little wow to your finished project. The pretty medallion stamp set is perfect for […]

What is Stamping Off? – Creativity Abounds Blog Hop Mar ’23…

The Creativity Abounds crew are focusing on the amazing Fancy Flora suite this month and I wanted to show you how to make this Two-Tone Flora card, focusing on answering that common question, what is stamping off? In short, it is a really super technique which will give you so many more options with your ink pads. You absolutely can use these stamps with different coloured inks, too, […]

Spring Themed Card – Tech 4 Stampers Blog Hop Mar ’23…

The theme for this month’s Tech 4 Stampers blog hop is Spring, and I really enjoyed making this Spring themed card, though I must say at the time of creating it we were feeling any but Spring like here in the UK! I decided to use the Nested Friends bundle, mainly because it has been sat unloved on my shelf since I bought it, but also because it really is a sign of Spring for me when the birds start nest building. We are lucky to have a birds nest in our hedge, and excited to see if they come […]
